The updated ECS-SRA for 2019

The first ever joint Electronic Components & Systems (ECS) Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) was published in January 2018. Each year the three European industry associations AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA and EPoSS, spanning the entire value chain, set out their vision for digital Europe, the key application areas, the R&D&I challenges and solutions.

Position Paper: Smart Systems for the Automated Hospital

The European Technology Platform on Smart Systems Integration – EPoSS – aims at contributing to the societal challenge of digitising healthcare for the benefit of patients and the society by addressing the issue of automation in the hospitals, where the potential impact of smartware on the delivery of healthcare is greatest with respect to quality, accessibility and cost-reduction.

Position Paper: Smart Systems for the Automated Factory

In 2017, EPoSS published its latest Strategic Research Agenda in which experts have developed roadmaps, set milestones and defined actions to be taken in different domains, including the manufacturing sector, until 2030. This document therefore constitutes an important basis for joint activities in the area of SSI, and thus will be essential for shaping the future landscape of smart systems research.

Advanced Microsystems for Automotive Applications 2018: Smart Systems for Clean, Safe and Shared Road Vehicles

This volume of the Lecture Notes in Mobility series contains papers written by speakers at the 22nd International Forum on Advanced Microsystems for Automotive Applications (AMAA 2018) "Smart Systems for Clean, Safe and Shared Road Vehicles" that was held in Berlin, Germany in september 2018. The authors report about recent breakthroughs in electric and electronic components and systems, driver assistance, vehicle automation and electrification as well as data, clouds and machine learning. Furthermore, innovation aspects and impacts of connected and automated driving are covered.

SEA Brochure 2018

In April 2016 the European Commission presented the Digitising European Industry Strategy (DEI). The overall objective of this initiative is to ensure that any industry in Europe - big or small, wherever situated and in whichever sector - can fully benefit from digital innovations to upgrade its products, improve its processes and adapt its business models to the digital age. This requires not only a dynamic digital sector in Europe but also the full integration of digital innovations across all sectors of the economy.

ECS-SRA 2018

In 2018 AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA and EPoSS publish the first common Strategic Research Agenda, spanning the entire electronic components and systems (ECS-SRA) value chain. This common framework for Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) identifies key research priorities, technology challenges and application areas to foster Europe’s transformation into a digital society, and to deliver societal and economic value.

EPoSS SRA 2017

Ten years after its first publication EPoSS members have updated this document for the fourth time. The experts have developed  roadmaps,  set  milestones  and  defined actions to be taken for each of these fields over the next 15 years.

SAE Enhancing he digital transformation of the European industry

SAE Led by Commissioner Oettinger, the European Commission has published its communication on “Digitising European Industry – Reaping the full benefits of a Digital Single Market” in April 2016*. The overall objective of this European strategy for digitising industry is to ensure that any industry in Europe, big or small, wherever situated and in any sector can fully benefit from digital innovations to upgrade its products, improve its processes and adapt its business models to the digital change.

Smarter-SI White Paper

On the way to digital transformation of their products, European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) need access to manufacturing facilities for the necessary electronic components and systems. Since SMEs in general are more successful by adopting a niche market strategy for their products, it is expected that quick, flexible, and low-cost production of small lot-sizes is an essential condition for their market success.

European Roadmap Electrification of Road Transport 2017

The European Roadmap on the “Electrification of Road Transport” published jointly by the European Technology Platforms ERTRAC, EPoSS and ETIP SNET, provides background information and R&D&I roadmaps for the electrification of the different vehicle categories.

This is the 3rd edition of the document, an update of the last publication from 2012. It extends the outlook until 2030, such that it can serve as an input for the strategic discussion about the next Framework Program.
