Amendment
As of November 7, 2023 the three industry associations EPoSS, AENEAS, and INSIDE present the amendment of the 2023 edition of the Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (ECS SRIA) developed by the experts of the ECS community and coordinated by them.
As part of the Chips Act and the Chips Joint Undertaking launch, the ECS SRIA 2023 amendment aims to better prepare, still in 2023, for the next coming Calls for Expression of Interest for the first Pilot Lines and for the Design Platform. The ECS stakeholders have been consulted on this amendment through the industry associations over the last two weeks.
The amendment includes the identification of the topics of the ECS-SRIA related to these two new funding instruments. More specifically, Chapter 2.3 (Architecture and Design – Methods and Tools) has been revised to clarify and highlight the role of ‘design platforms’ in each of the Major Challenges, as a special cross-cutting key focus area.

The new ECS SRIA 2024 draft will be published for open consultation prior to the Chips JU Launch Event, called “Chips for Europe”, and presented on 1 December. We will gather your feedback to finalise this seventh edition which will be the basis for the Chips JU calls 2024 and the Xecs Call 4.
