The development, production and use of new materials is one of the most economically, socially and environmentally important fields of science and innovation. It is also a field of science where AI is having significant effects on progress. The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Innovation, and the OECD’s Directorate for Science Technology and Innovation are jointly organising a workshop on the impact of advances in AI on the future of materials science.
