The summer school will take place in Leipzig, 24-28 August 2015.
The need for workflow modeling and simulation in medical systems engineering and development of new applications is growing rapidly. These advanced technologies are also being integrated into clinical settings to support optimal surgical or interventional treatment for the individual patient.
The main goal of the 2nd ICCAS Digital Operating Room Summer School (DORS) is to train young and also experienced researchers in bridging the gaps between personalized treatment for patients and the clinicians’ need for useful technological support as well as the challenges on the operator side while trying to use advanced technologies. The aim is to deliver a stimulating graduate training course for clinical and technical researchers and students. The participants will benefit from direct interaction with leading senior researchers in the field of operative medicine software and hardware engineering.
In addition, we encourage the participants to present their own research to get feedback from clinical experts as well as to communicate with their scientific peers in a friendly informal and constructive environment.
DORS 2015 will be organized in 10 main courses. The courses will consist of in-depth tutorial-style lectures based on state-of-the-art methods and advanced research lectures involving examples and practical applications. Each of the clinical and technical events will be complemented by hands-on exercises and visits of Leipzig’s very advanced hybrid ORs and interventional suites.
The 2nd ICCAS Digtital Operating Room Summer School (DORS 2015) has been certified by the national authority “Sächsische Landesärztekammer” with 63 CME credits.
The 2nd ICCAS Digtital Operating Room Summer School (DORS 2015) was granted 29 European CME credits (ECMEC) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
