Robert Madelin, Director-General of DG CONNECT, has informed the EPoSS Chairman and the EPoSS Office of the recognition of EPoSS as a European Technology Platform (ETP) in the context of the upcoming "Strategy for European Technology Platforms: ETP2020" and the revised criteria for recognition. EPoSS has been considered by the European Commission services to fulfil the revised criteria for recognition, and will therefore be included in the publicly available list of recognised ETPs on the European Commission's ETP website. The EC further welcomes the cooperation with ENIAC and ARTEMIS in the context of the future JU on Electronic Components and Systems, ECSEL.
EPoSS was evaluated based on the self-assessment form that EPoSS submitted in response to the 2013 round of ETP assessment and against the ETP2020 draft strategy.
