The European Commission has published the ICT for Green Cars call for proposals.
The call consists in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative for Green Cars.
Topics
Part of the ICT work programme, the call focuses on
electro-mobility. It aims at reducing the cost and improving the energy
efficiency of fully electric vehicles (FEV) and their value chain
through the application of advanced ICT. Targeted outcomes include
advanced system architecture, comprehensive energy management as well
as coordination and support for the development of the sector.
The ICT for Green Cars call is part of the broader green cars
initiative, which comes as the EU's response to forecasts announcing
future shortages in crude oil. It aims to boost research on
technologies and smart energy infrastructures which are essential to
the deployment of cars using renewable and non-polluting energy sources
while ensuring safety and traffic fluidity.
