Announcement
The automobile is going through the biggest transformation in its history. Automation and electrification of vehicles are expected to enable safer and cleaner mobility. The prospects and requirements of the future automobile affect innovations in major technology fields like driver assistance systems, vehicle networking and drivetrain development.
Smart systems such as adaptive ICT components and MEMS devices, novel network architectures, integrated sensor systems, intelligent interfaces and functional materials form the basis of these features and permit their successful and synergetic integration.
It has been the mission of the International Forum on Advanced Microsystems for Automotive Applica-tions (AMAA) for more than fifteen years to detect novel trends and to discuss the technological implications from early on. Therefore, the topic of the AMAA 2014 will be “Smart Systems for Safe, Clean, and Automated Vehicles”.
Leading engineers and scholars from all around the world are cordially invited to participate in the dialogue and submit proposals for papers addressing ongoing research and novel developments in this field. Discussions at the conference will focus particularly on the application areas mentioned below. A special attention will be given to topics covered in public funding programs like the European Green Vehicles Initiative PPP of Horizon 2020.
We are looking forward to receiving your proposals, and to meeting you for an inspiring conference in summer 2014.

Abstract Submission
Proposals for presentation of a paper at the 18th AMAA should be submitted in the form of abstracts including title, names and affiliations of authors and short summary of content (not exceeding one page A4) to the AMAA Office by 1 November 2013.
Contributions are expected to address recent research, development, and innovations either for applications or for the enabling technologies.
The selection criteria include scientific soundness and innovative strength of the described work. The evaluation process involving the members of the AMAA Steering Committee will take place in early December 2013. The presenting author of an ac-cepted paper is obliged to register for the conference and will benefit from a reduced registration fee.
Conference Book
Authors of accepted abstracts will be informed immediately and are expected to submit a paper for the AMAA Conference Book which is published worldwide as part of the prestigious Springer book series Lecture Notes in Mobility prior to the conference. In order to ensure a timely publication of the book, all manuscripts have to be submitted prior to 1 February 2014.
Exhibitor Information
The exhibition is an integral part of the AMAA. On both conference days, companies will be given the opportunity to present new products and services as well as novel technologies to an international expert audience representing automakers, suppliers and academia. Prototype vehicles can be shown at a parking lot close to the venue.
Sponsorship Opportunities
There is a multitude of opportunities to bring your company’s activities to the attention of the AMAA community. These are ranging from the standard option to include your company’s logo into select communications to a platinum option which comprises an entry in the list of sponsors on the first pages of the conference book.
Side Events
Working groups e.g. of EPoSS and other initiatives will meet at dedicated satellite events of the AMAA 2014.
Registration Fees
The payment of a registration fee is mandatory for all participants, including the presenting authors. It covers a copy of the conference book, the coffee breaks, lunch and the social event including confer-ence dinner on the first day.
