The "Barcelona SmartCity" International Award is organized by Barcelona City Council, with the support of the Barcelona Digital Technology Centre.
The “Barcelona SmartCity” International Award is being established with the intention of identifying the solutions or projects that clearly contribute to improving municipal services for managing the city in order to make Barcelona a city of the future: a city with a high quality of life which is competitive, sustainable and has an innovative, flexible, efficient administration.
Themes
• Urban mobility in electric vehicles and
especially systems to manage fleets of shared vehicles (such as car
sharing).
• Environmental quality, especially regarding
measuring, supervising and
controlling air quality and preventing noise pollution. Solutions that
can be applied to exercise environmental control over public works will
be especially valued.
• New solutions for public lighting.
Who is it aimed at?
The "Barcelona SmartCity" International Award is aimed at businesses
and
entrepreneurs, people or organizations, individuals or groups who have
innovative products or services at a pre-commercial phase that fit in
with the theme of the award.
Entry Deadlines
Entries will remain open until Tuesday, 21 April 2011 at 12 noon.
