The European Commission has published its 'Transport - DG Move' call for proposals. The document is part of the latest set of calls published under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
The approach taken for transport-related EU innovation funding in 2013 is based on a holistic vision of the sector, considering the interactions between vehicles, networks and infrastructures. With an indicative budget of EUR 25 million, the DG Move call builds on this vision with four topics:
- Capitalising on CIVITAS (City-Vitality-Sustainability) knowledge and experience to ensure sustainable urban mobility;
- Inspection capabilities for enhanced ship safety;
- Towards a competitive and resource efficient port transport system;
- Demonstration of electric buses as a viable mode of urban public transport, within the framework of the 'European Green Cars Initiative'.
