The European Commission has published its call for proposals for Research for the benefit of SMEs. The document is part of the latest set of calls published under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
Europe 2020, the Union's strategy to support growth and job
creation, foresees the simple access and stronger involvement of SMEs
in future EU research and innovation programmes, in particular those
with high growth potential.
To make this a reality, the call for 'Research for the benefit of SMEs'
will strengthen European SMEs' capacity for innovation and their
contribution to the development of new technology-based products and
markets. Thanks to EU funding amounting to EUR 252.31 million, SMEs
with little or no research capacity will more easily outsource research
efforts to RTD performers, extend their networks, exploit research
results and acquire technological know-how.
