The European Commission has published the Knowledge-Based Bio-Economy (KBBE) call for proposals.
The KBBE addresses specific challenges such as food quality, animal diseases and welfare, sustainability of bio-resources and environment-friendly agricultural, aquaculture and fishery production.
The single-stage call for proposals is broken down into three activities and 45 topics. It focuses on:
- Sustainable production and management of biological resources from land, forest and aquatic environments
- Fork to farm: food (including sea-food), health and well being
- Life science, biotechnology and biochemistry for sustainable non-food products and processes.
