COWIN is organising a Tutorial in the framework of the EPoSS Engagement Day on 28th September at 09:00 addressing the compliance of regulation as a success factor for innovative projects.

The objective of this session is to give key information and best practice on how the knowledge and the command of regulation aspects can open up business opportunities for smart systems technologies.

Innovative projects can benefit from compliance to regulatory hurdle by transforming them into competitive advantages, in particular within the healthcare and food&beverage industries.

This tutorial will address two major regulatory environments, often faced by innovative companies: intellectual property and EC/FDA regulatory frameworks.

  •  Intellectual property
  • Which patent protection can be used
  • How can a patent protect or prevent a successful business, how can patent restrict market access
  • Which territories
  • Critical timings in patent applications
  • Special cases: i.e. Japan and examination requirements…
  • Search reports vs. FTO analysis, what do X and Y in ISR stand for
  • Which search report is the most reliable
