
The conference theme is "From Smart Systems to Smart Matters". AIM 2014 will take place in Besancon, 8-11 July 2014. The deadline for submission of Full Papers & Organized Session Papers is 20 January 2014; the deadline for submission of Tutorials/Workshops proposals is 20 January 2014.
AIM 2014 brings together an international community of experts to discuss the state-of-the-art, new research results, perspectives of future developments, and innovative applications relevant to mechatronics, robotics, control, automation, and related areas.
The conference theme is "From Smart Systems to Smart Matters" which highlights Functional Integration for Multi-Scale Technologies ensuring Societal and Industrial Needs. The conference will take place at the Mercure Hotel, Parc Micaud which is located in the city center of Besançon.
The IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM) is an offspring of the flagship Mechatronics journal, IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics.

Contributed Papers
Accepted and presented papers will be indexed by EI, Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI Proceedings) and SciVerse Scopus. All papers will go through a rigorous, singleblind reviewing process. Accepted papers will be presented in an oral‐presentation during the conference. In addition, all contributions will appear in full‐length without distinction in the conference proceedings, and will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
Best Paper Awards
All submitted papers will be evaluated for the Best Conference Paper Award, and Best Student Paper Award.
Tutorials & Workshops
Proposals for half day or full day tutorials and workshops addressing new topics in intelligent mechatronics are invited for submission to the T/W Chairs. Proposals must include (1) statement of objectives, (2) intended audiences, (3) list of speakers, and (4) list of topics.
Organized Sessions
Organized session proposers should submit to the Organized Session Chairs a brief statement of purpose for the session as well as the abstract of the papers to be included. A typical organized session consists of 4 to 5 related papers.
Industrial tour
In parallel with the tutorials and workshops, an industrial tour of companies which activities are related to Mechatronics will be organized.

AIM 2014 will be held in Mercure Hotel and the Nouveau Théâtre de Besançon.
