- EPoSS General Assembly, Annual Forum & Proposers' Day 2011
This year's EPoSS Annual Forum will be held 5-7 October 2011 at the CosmoCaixa Science Museum in Barcelona. The three-day event includes the EPoSS General Assembly on the 1st day, the EPoSS Annual Conference on the 2nd day and an EPoSS Proposers' Day and COWIN Tutorial on the 3rd day.
The 15th International Forum on Advanced Microsystems for Automotive Applications (AMAA) will be held in Berlin, 29-30 June 2011. Reduced rates are available for members of the EPoSS Steering Group and the EPoSS Automotive Working Group.
The International seminar on nanomechanical systems will be held in Toulouse, 4-5 July 2011.
On 11 April 2011 an EPoSS delegation met with Commissioner Neelie Kroes for an exchange on "Smart Systems Technologies: The Innovation Driver for Europe".
Information and communication technologies (ICT) are a key element of Europe's economic performance and essential to economic growth. To strengthen the competitiveness of industry, successive R&D Framework Programmes have been set up in Europe since 1980. What seems crucial for Europe's growth and jobs in the future is that its manufacturing industry remains competitive vis-à-vis the challenges of globalisation.
At the MNBS 2011 event that was held at Ikerlan IK4 in Mondragón on 5-6 April 2011, the Chairman of the EPoSS Medical Technologies Working Group, Renzo DalMolin of Sorin, presented the WG's position paper on healthcare that was developed by the group earlier this year.
The survey captures the end users', technologists' and policy makers' opinions on strategically important IOT scenarios.
EUMINAfab: the European Research Infrastructure for multimaterial micro and nano fabrication and characterization opens the 4th call for no fee access to 36 installations containing equipment to high end micro and nano technologies.
A document is made available highlighting objectives and upcoming calls in the current ICT Work Programme that are relevant for the EPoSS community.

On 17 February 2011 an EPoSS delegation met with Rudolf Strohmeier for an information exchange between EPoSS and DG RTD.

pHealth 2011 - 8th International Conference on Wearable Micro and Nano Technologies for Personal Health
Organized with the collaboration of the EU's Microsystems and ICT for Health units since 2003, the personalised Health forum seeks to identify and address the key challenges to successful "pHealth" provision, challenges which hinder the commercialisation and clinical uptake of viable healthcare solutions.
The school has reached its 7th edition and is organized, for the third time, at the premises of the Laboratoire d’Analyse et d’Architecture des Systèmes (LAAS-CNRS), in Toulouse France on the 4-8 July 2011.
The second International Seminar on Nano-Electro-Mechanical Systems (NEMS) will be held in Toulouse, France, July 4-5, 2011.
