The main objective of the Workshop is to present the final results achieved in CATHERINE (Carbon nAnotube Technology for High-speed nExt geneRation nano- InterconNEcts), a three-year scientific project funded within the 7th Framework Programme (FP7), Future and Emerging Tecnologies (FET): Nano-scale ICT Devices and Systems.

During the Workshop, contributions regarding the recent results on carbon nanotube and graphene nanointerconnects achieved within the FP7 projects GRAND and Viacarbon will be also presented.

The Workshop has the scope to provide an attractive platform for academic scientists, leading engineers, industry researchers and students to exchange and share their experiences about fabrication, theoretical modelling and experimental characterization of carbon- based nanomaterials and nanodevices for future electronics applications. It is expected that the Workshop will be the base for the birth of new scientific collaborations and of an efficient European network in the field of nanotechnology.
