The TSensors Summit Munich 2014 is co-chaired by Prof. Dr. Christoph Kutter, director of the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Modular Solid State Technologies EMFT, and Dr. Janusz Bryzek, originator and Chair of TSensors initiative.

TSensors Summits are being organized as forums for the world’s sensor visionaries to present their views on which sensor applications (TApps), sensor types and sensor manufacturing platforms which have the potential to fuel sensor market growth to the trillions within a decade. Such forecasted explosion will be a continuation of consumer sensor growth from 10 million units in 2007 (iPhone introduction) to almost 10 billion devices in 2013.

TSensor

The unprecedented vision for sensors growth to trillions is supported by the emergence of multiple global economic tides such as mobile market, wearables, Internet of Things (IoT), Internet of Everything (IoE) and the largest economic tide in history of humans with forecasted $19 trillion growth by 2020, emergence of Exponential Technologies accelerating growth of good and services above the demand growth rate, and the emergence of Exponential Organizations redefining business models and replacing traditional linear organizations. The expected outcome will be massive creation of new jobs and Abundance, the elimination of major global problems such as hunger, lack of medical care, clean water and energy within one generation, in about 20 years.

These global tides ride on sensors providing link between real world and computer systems.  Many of these sensors will be new. Considering that historical development cycle for new sensors was 30 years, TSensors movement was initiated to accelerate new sensors development.

The first TSensors event was organized at UC Berkeley in April 2013, gathering 80 attendees. The first TSensors Summit organized at Stanford University in October 2013 gathered 250 attendees. The second TSensors Summit organized in Tokyo, February 2014, was attended by 300 attendees. In addition to San Diego, additional 2014 TSensors Summits are being organized in Munich (September),Tokyo (December) and Beijing (Q2 2015).

TSensors visions from TSensors Summits are being processed by a group of volunteers to develop TSensors Roadmap, which will provide recommendations for sensor technology platforms best supporting emerging sensor types. The follow-up phase will focus on financing accelerated development.
