Plenaries

Three conference plenaries will invite high profile international speakers from industry, government and research to discuss visions for European research and industry in 2020, how Europe can succeed in the face of global competition, and the form and impact of Horizon 2020.

  • Plenary 1: Visions for 2020

The opening plenary looks ahead to the development of industrial innovation policy towards 2020, with representation from the member states, the European Parliament and the European Commission.

  • Plenary 2: European Industry in 2020

A panel of industrial leaders will establish their own visions for the development of European industry to 2020, setting out what they see as the key challenges, and how these can be overcome with action from all stakeholders; industry, research and government.

  • Plenary 3: Europe in Global Competition

International competition does not need to be regarded as a zero-sum game. This session brings together policymakers and experts from other world regions to identify areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

  • Plenary 4: NMP in Horizon 2020

The closing plenary looks ahead to how NMP is likely to be reflected in Horizon 2020, in terms of the approaches, funding and developments that will affect this area.
