The DSP Valley International Day on 13th October 2014 is dedicated to international companies and clusters, willing to discover the Flemish high tech eco-system on Smart Electronic Systems. The International Day offers a unique opportunity to discover this vibrant and dynamic eco-system in depth. We will present to you, together with Flanders Investment and Trade, the outlook and opportunities for Electronics Systems in Flanders. On top, we arranged visits to some of the DSP Valley state of the art high tech and most innovative companies: imec, Tombra Sorting and NXP Leuven.

The Smart Systems Industry Summit on 14th October 2014 is the combination of an international conference and exhibition on Smart Electronic Systems. The Summit will bring together all major stakeholders, businesses and innovators in the field of Designing Smart Products. With more than 6 conference tracks, 32 speakers and 30 exhibitors, the SSIS offers a unique networking and business platform. We are planning an inspirational program in true Belgian tradition, known for its quality, hospitality and open-innovation.

Programme for DSP Valley International Day on 13 October 2014

10.00: Pickup participants staying in Mechelen (in front of Novotel Hotel). Arrival in Leuven around 10.30.

10.30 – 11.00: Welcome & registration for participants staying or arriving on Monday in Leuven or Brussels Airport. Venue: Vlaams Administratief Centrum Leuven (route: see below).

11.00 – 11.20: Introduction to DSP Valley and the eco-system, Peter Simkens, Managing Director DSP Valley.

11.20 – 11.40: New technologies and opportunities in the Healthcare and Medical Devices Market, Frederik Horemans, Project Coordinator DSP Valley.

11.40 – 12.00: Flavors of Flanders, Claire Tillekaerts, CEO Flanders Investment and Trade.

12.00 – 13.00: Lunch

13.15 – 14.15: Presentation by imec and demonstrations, including 300mm Cleanroom Window Tour.

14.15 – 14.40: Travel to Tomra Sorting – Leuven

14.40 – 15.40: Presentation by TOMRA and demonstrations.

15.40 – 16.00 Travel to NXP- Leuven

16.00– 17.00: Presentation by NXP and demonstrations.

17.00 – 17.30: Travel to Mechelen – Carolus

17.30 – 19.00: Social event. Tour in Mechelen (old town) and visit of the Carolus brewery, including beer tasting. The Board of Directors of DSP Valley will join for the social event.

19.00: End of the International Day and free time.

The Fee is 290€ and also includes:

  • All presentations, visits, lunch and social event on Monday 13th of October 2014
  • Full participation to the SSIS (conference and exhibition), including lunch on Tuesday 14th of October 2014
