The market for Additive Manufacturing is very diverse. Most promising niches herein are biomedical applications, with bioprinting and scaffolds as hot topics.

There is a keen interest in the technology and its applications, but still many questions remain.

Sirris brings you this workshop with interactive moments, to present the state of the art and the future, and it will also investigate the needs that you are experiencing as a (future) user.

Additive Manufacturing for biomedical applications

The programme brings these presentations:

State of the art overview:

  • Medical applications of Additive Manufacturing technologies
    (Carsten Engel, Sirris)

  • 3D Bio-printing and Organ printing - myth and realities
    (Grégory Nolens, Sirris)

Research results:

  • 3D plotting of scaffolds for tissue engineering
    (Dr. Kim Ragaert, Ghent University)

  • 3D manufacturing of biopolymers for the analysis of blood vessels
(Prof. Dr. Zouaoui Karim, CHU Vésale - ULB)

Clinical needs and applications:

  • Biodegradable and ceramic structures - applications in dentistry
(Prof. Dr. France Lambert, CHU Liège - ULg)
