This event is organised by SEMI Europe, a global industry association for the semiconductor manufacturing supply chain. This year's theme is: "Keep Semiconductor Advanced Manufacturing in Europe Competitive". Through a series of keynotes and panel discussions, industry leaders and EU representatives will discuss practical recommendations on some of Europe's Key Enabling Technologies (KET), in particular to address the needs of the European semiconductor industry. Key questions to be debated include: What funding and investment is needed to grow KET development in Europe and how will different EU funding programs and instruments come together to move KET from R&D to full commercialization? How will the European Commission, Member States, and Industry coordinate to fully implement the recommendations of the KET High Level Group?

6th SEMI Brussels Forum

The European Union faces growing and overwhelming global competition from both developed and emerging economies. Although Europe remains in a position of relative strengths, it must strategize to secure the future now, for the next generations to come.

Critical mass of advanced manufacturing and pilot-lines are indispensable to keep state of the art research and development going and to create and retain high-quality jobs in Europe. Our long-term ability to innovate and compete in the global economy depends on co-locating manufacturing and related R&D activities in Europe competitive, along with a strong supply chain of equipment materials and services.

With the European Commission’s Key Enabling Technologies (KET) recommendations now published, work needs to focus on implementation. We need concrete measures put in place, as soon as possible, for Europe to remain an innovative and competitive manufacturing region.

Let’s work together to keep Europe in the race. Implement today the Recommendations from the Key Enabling Technologies High Level Group!
