- Members will normally
be of sufficient international standing and key actors in the area of smart
systems technologies, microsystems and/or nanotechnologies or in a related
applications area. EPoSS members will be able to provide substantial advice
and be in a position to influence stakeholders in planning research and deployment
programmes, fostering partnerships and leveraging resources.
- New members will have
to accept the Terms of Reference, as well as agree to the vision outlined
in the EPoSS SRA "Implementing the European Research Area for Smart Systems
Technologies".
- Although EPoSS essentially
is open for everybody, members should predominantly be industry representatives.
SMEs are particularly welcome. Furthermore, public research organisations,
industry associations and other organisations able to further develop the
vision of Smart Systems are welcome. However, the number of non-industry representatives
should not exceed one third of the total membership.
- Members agree to bear
all expenses arising from the participation in the ETP EPoSS.
- Members are requested to contribute to the financing of the EPoSS Office
according to the type and size of their respective institution. The following amounts have been fixed by a decision of the Steering
Group:
- Large Companies (>250 employees): 4.000 EUR.
- SMEs and public research institutions: 2.000 EUR.
- Universities: 1.500 EUR.
- Upon approval and payment of the contribution, members will receive
access to the internal area of the EPoSS website. The access
is for personal use only and must not be handed to third parties.
Contact information of members will only be used for EPoSS belongings. However,
members agree that contact information is published on the internal websites
of EPoSS.
- Members are entirely
part of the EPoSS information flow and have the possibility to join the EPoSS
working groups at any time.
- EPoSS members meet once a year
in the EPoSS General Assembly which is carried out in conjunction with the
EPoSS Annual Conference.
- Membership is unlimited. It is only cancelled upon formal resignation of the
member to the EPoSS office or by exclusion of the member in exceptional cases.
