EPoSS General Assembly, Annual Forum & Proposers' Day 2011
You are cordially invited to participate in the event to be held 5 - 7 October 2011 in Barcelona at the CosmoCaixa Science Museum. Participation is free of charge for EPoSS members and participants from Spain. This year the Annual Forum is extended to a three-day event to accommodate an EPoSS Proposers' Day on relevant EU Calls, such as ICT Call 8 and the 2011/2012 PPP Calls. The EPoSS Proposers' Day is free of charge for all participants.

The EPoSS General Assembly 2011, starting at 3 pm, is dedicated to
EPoSS members and all those who intend to become a member. It will include reporting on the platform’s
activities, operational and financial issues, an overview on
the structure and activities of the EPoSS Working Groups, and
a presentation of future strategies and priority
The General Assembly will be followed by parallel meetings of the EPoSS Working Groups on Medical Technologies, Automotive and Communications for Smart Devices.
A dinner event will complete the first day‘s programme.

The EPoSS Annual Forum 2011 "Towards Smart Systems Products",
starting at 9 am, will be opened by EPoSS Chairman Carmelo Papa,
Executive Vice President, Industrial & Multisegment General
Manager of STMicroelectronics, by Mr. Josep Moragas, Conseller Delegat, CEO of ACC1Ó and by the Spanish Vice Minister of Innovation Mr. JuanTomás
Keynote speeches will be given by Professor Ken Sakamura of the YRP Ubiquitous Networking Laboratory in Tokyo, Vicenç Aguilera, R&D General Director of FICOSA, Jesús Ruano of Ikerlan IK4 as well as by Dirk Beernaert and Peter Friess from the European Commission.
The keynote session will be followed by three thematic sessions on Applied Micro-Nano-Bio Systems, Market Applications for Smart Systems as well as on Smart Systems and Manufacturing.
Following the conference there will be a meeting of the EPoSS Working Group on Key Technologies and a Kick-Off meeting of the new Working Group on Applied MNBS.
Parallel to the WG meetings participants will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the CosmoCaixa Science Museum or a site visit at Starlab followed by a reception at Starlab.

At the EPoSS Proposers’ Day 2011, starting at 9 am,
participants will present project ideas for relevant open and upcoming
In a plenary session representatives of the European Commission, EPoSS, Euripides and CEN CENELEC will provide information on relevant calls as well as on EPoSS successes in past calls and standardization support to research projects.
Furthermore the FP7 project COWIN offers a COWIN tutorial on IPR issues in research projects.
Technology Offers and Requests will be on display during the day, and there will be ample room for networking and brokerage.
This year’s 3-day combined Conference and Proposers’ Day is
an excellent opportunity to
- Meet with key representatives from industry, research and the European Commission
- Get involved in research & innovation in areas such as manufacturing, MNBS, health, energy, new materials, green cars
- Join the EPoSS Community in the commercialization of innovative Smart Systems
- Take on an active role in defining research priorities and roadmaps
- Disseminate results from your current FP7 projects
- Receive valuable and customized information on open calls and funding opportunities

- Present project ideas, proposals and technology offers
- Take part in the proposal and consortium building process
