   Add a document:
First, ensure that you are in the folder where you want to add the document.
Then go to the "Add New Item"-button and click on document in the drop down menue.

After having created the document, plone asks you to fill in the document details (picture on the left)

Short Name: The short name will become part of the document's URL, so keep the name short and descriptive, preferably without spaces.
If you don't provide a name, Plone will create one for you.

Title: This is the title for the document, and it'll be shown throughout the site (for example, at the top of the page, in the search interface, in the title of the browser, and so on). This field is required.

Description: Here you can write a short lead in to the document. This field is not required.

Body text: In this part, you fill in the content of your document. It's possible to copy and paste texts, to upload images or to edit the document with HTML

Edit a Document:
In order to edit the content of an already existing document simply navigate to this document and click on the "Edit"-tab
(which you find in the blue border around the top).

Notice: If you don't see the "Edit"-tab, you don't have the rights to add content in this part.

Now you can change title, description or the content in the body text. Furthermore it's possible to change the short name but generally you should not do this. Creating a document (or any other item) the short name becomes part of the document's URL. If you change it afterwards, links can become invalid for example

Don't forget to click on the "Save"-button at the bottom of the page after editing your document!
If you want to delete all changes, choose the "Cancel"-button
