Working with items

In the majority of cases you will use in EPoSS website items of the type "file". It gives you the possibility to upload data like word documents, excel charts or powerpoint presentations.

other important content types are:

document:	A document in a content management system will appear like a normal web page. It presents some static information like texts, tables or images.
folder:	This is like a folder on your hard drive (in windows for example). You use it to structure content.
news item:	This is a document that's to be shown under the news tab.
link:	This is a link to another item which may be internal or external to another web site.
image:	An image, such as a .gif or .jpeg file

In this help the item type file is used as an example to show you how to add, move or delete items. Due to its importance in plone you'll find a detailed explanation how to add and edit documents, too.
Add, edit and move every other type of item works in the same way.

You can add different
items by choosing
them in the "Add New Item"-menue
